The Delta South Rebirth Movement (DSRM) has officially announced its formation, marking a new phase of political engagement and advocacy in the Delta South Senatorial District.
Speaking at the Movement’s inaugural meeting at the Warri Club, Warri South Local Government Area, the Protem Coordinator of the Movement, Deacon Andrew Megbele, PhD, stated that DSRM was born out of a compelling need to recalibrate political participation in Delta South.
He emphasized that the core objective of the Movement is to promote purposeful representation that directly addresses the peculiar challenges of the Senatorial District, foster unity, and accelerates both physical and human capital development across the eight local government areas of Delta South.
Dr. Megbele explained that although the people of Delta South are diverse in ethnic composition, they are united by strong cultural affinity, economic viability, and a shared history of resilience. According to him, DSRM will leverage these shared attributes to foster unity and strengthen political leadership and representation within the Senatorial District. In his words, “DSRM will spearhead advocacy for the unity of Delta South.”
He further noted that these objectives necessitated the convergence of critical stakeholders and political foot soldiers under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to form the Movement.
He affirmed the Movement’s commitment and loyalty to the APC and pledged unequivocal support for all the party’s candidates in the 2027 general election.
The Movement also affirmed its resolve to multi-layered stakeholder consultations, leadership engagement, and extensive grassroots mobilization across the eight local government areas and sixty-eight wards of the Delta South Senatorial District, with a view to ensuring a successful and victorious outing for the APC in 2027 and beyond.
