Archbishop Odutemu, Bishop Idahosa, Akpata, Others For Chapter 17 Book Launch In Benin City Friday

Archbishop of Bendel Province and Bishop of Ughelli Diocese, Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Cyril Odibo-Oghene Odutemu and President of Benson Idahosa University and Head of the Cabinet, Church of God Mission International, Bishop FEB Idahosa, are among dignitaries to attend the official book launch and presentation of “Chapter 17,” written by a 19-year-old Miss Abundance Igben Ozodemen in Benin City.

 

Chapter 17, a book that chronicles childhood trauma, emotional abuse, and the path to healing, has been praised by reviewers as a must-read book for every family in a social media-driven era, highlighting how the author uses the right storytelling techniques to speak to her audience – children, teenagers, and parents.

 

The launching ceremony, slated for Friday, June 27, 2025, at the popular Avenue Event Center along Faith Way, Upper Adesuwa, Benin City, will commence at 10:00 a.m. prompt.

 

The launch of the book also coincided with the unveiling of The S’oiko Foundation, an NGO dedicated to educating, empowering teenagers and parents to break harmful cycles and rebuild strong values in communities.

According to a statement on Wednesday, organisers say Archbishop Odutemu is the book’s Chief launcher, while the Director, Ebun Heritage High School, Lagos, will doubled as the chairman and co-launcher at the ceremony.

 

The President of Benson Idahosa University, Bishop Idahosa, and the Chief Innovation Officer, Genius Hub Global, Mrs. Whyte Isimeme, are the special guests of honour at the event.

 

Other guests expected at the ceremony are: the founder of Barr. Rita Oboh Akpata, Mrs. Rita Oboh Akpata Esq; renowned counseling psychologist, Mrs. Ejiro Eze; founder, Ultra Push Nigeria, Rev Chisom Ijeakhena; founder, Upgrade Mastery, Dr. Alex Osagie; and social development consultant, Yuwa Aladeselu.

 

Author of the book, Miss Abundance, fondly called Sophia, is a 400-level law student of the Benson Idahosa University, Benin City. She is an advocate of children’s rights and a better society.

 

Described as a gifted writer and passionate advocate, Miss Abundance began writing at the age of 9, and at 11, she attempted her first book. And since then, she has written about love, children’s rights, drug abuse, and others.

The statement read, “Your pain is not your fault—but your healing is your responsibility. You are not defined by what broke you, but by how you choose to rebuild. Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting; it means choosing freedom over bitterness. And even when the world stays silent, your voice still matters. Speak. Heal. Grow. You are worthy of peace.

 

“Abundance Igben Ozodemen, simply called Sophia by her peers, is a 19-year-old, 400-level law student at Benson Idahosa University. A gifted writer and passionate advocate, she began writing at age 9, and by 11, she had already attempted her first book. Her love for storytelling grew into a powerful tool for healing, awareness, and transformation.

 

“She is the author of Chapter 17, a deeply moving book that addresses childhood trauma, emotional abuse, and the path to healing. Abundance is also the founder of The S’oiko Foundation, an initiative focused on educating and empowering children, teenagers, and parents to break harmful cycles and rebuild stronger communities. Through S’oiko Integrated Services, she works to bring knowledge to the grassroots in accessible and impactful ways.

As the first of four children born to Mr. and Mrs. Igben Augustine, Abundance carries a deep sense of responsibility and purpose. She currently serves as the Communications Coordinator at She Leads Community, where she helps shape the narrative around female leadership and youth engagement.
