Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has extended warm congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Avwerotakpo Michael Eyareya (JP), King Eyareya II, on the occasion of his official presentation of the Staff of Office as the 15th Orovworere of Effurun-Otor Kingdom.
The presentation ceremony, held on Thursday, was conducted by the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, marking a significant milestone in the history of the Effurun-Otor Kingdom.
Describing the event as “historic,” Senator Dafinone praised the new monarch as a “worthy custodian of culture, peace, and progress.”
He emphasised that the Staff of Office not only symbolizes royal authority but also signifies the trust placed in the new king by both the people and the state government.
“As His Royal Majesty ascends the revered throne of his ancestors, I urge him to rule with love, fairness, and compassion,” the Senator said. “May he uphold the cherished customs and enduring traditions of the Effurun-Otor Kingdom, and may his reign be a source of unity and pride for all sons and daughters of the land”, the statement added.
Senator Dafinone expressed confidence that King Eyareya II’s reign would bring peace, social harmony, and accelerated development to the kingdom, which he described as having a proud history and vibrant people.
He also called on the people of Effurun-Otor to offer unwavering support to their new monarch, stressing that “the strength of any traditional institution lies in the unity between the throne and the people.”
