Humanitarian Minister, Yiltwada, Succeeds Ganduje As APC National Chairman

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, Prof. Nentawe Yiltwada, has emerged as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Yiltwada’s emergence followed his appointment by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling APC during its 14th meeting, held at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

 

He succeeds the former Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who resigned as national chairman on June 27.

 

Imo State Governor and chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Governor Hope Uzodinma, nominated of Yiltwada for the position at the ongoing NEC meeting.

 

The nomination was seconded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Tajudeen Abbas. NEC affirmed the nomination, and he was inaugurated immediately.

 

The new APC national chairman, 56, hails from Plateau State in the North Central geopolitical zone.
