Delta Central lawmaker in the National Assembly, Senator Ede Dafinone has felicitated with Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and the people of Delta as the state marks its 34th anniversary since creation.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District described the milestone as both a time for celebration and reflection on the progress made since Delta State was created in 1991.
“Delta State has recorded remarkable progress in peace, unity, and development, and I firmly believe that our best years are still ahead,” Senator Dafinone stated.
He commended Governor Oborevwori’s leadership and praised the administration’s “Renewed Hope for More” agenda, describing it as a people-centered drive that is laying the foundation for sustainable growth and inclusive governance.
Dafinone also called on all Deltans—home and abroad—to support the Governor’s efforts and to continue embracing the values that have shaped the state’s identity: unity, resilience, and mutual respect.
“As a people, we must sustain the values that bind us together,” he said. “By working collectively, we can build a stronger, more prosperous Delta State where opportunities abound for every citizen.”
Senator Dafinone concluded his message by reaffirming his commitment to the progress of Delta State and urging citizens to remain hopeful and engaged in the journey toward a brighter future.
Delta State was created on August 27, 1991, and has since grown into a major economic and cultural hub in Nigeria’s South-South region.
