Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has emerged as the gubernatorial candidate of the Accord Party for the 2026 governorship election in the state.

Adeleke, who was the sole aspirant of the party, was declared winner at the end of the governorship primary of the party on Wednesday.
Governor Adeleke’s emergence was greeted by jubilation among supporters and residents of the state.
Adeleke secured 145 out of 150 delegate votes to clinch the party’s ticket.
Five votes were voided.
The outcome of the primary election was announced by the Secretary of the Primary Committee, Abdulazeez Salaudeen.
Adeleke had announced his defection to the Accord Party on Tuesday, days after resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had announced August 2026 as the date for the Osun State Governorship election.
