Advocate Publication Ltd, publishers of Advocate Newspaper, has announced plans to host the 3rd edition of its annual lecture series focused on governance and democratic accountability in Nigeria.
The event, themed “From Ballot to Patronage: Why Electoral Victory Fails to Deliver Good Governance in Nigeria,” is scheduled to hold on April 16, 2026, at Wetland Hotel, Ughelli, Delta State.
The lecture will feature renowned governance advocate, Charles Apoki, as keynote speaker.
The Chairman of the occasion is Patrick Muoboghare, a respected scholar and community leader.
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, is expected as Special Guest of Honour, while Senator Ede Dafinone and O’tega Emerhor will attend as Guests of Honour.
The event will also feature panel discussions with experts, including Barrister Omemiroro Ogedegbe, CSP Omosetemi Agbede-Zuokumor, and Chief Monday Itoghor.
Moderating the session is veteran journalist, Abraham Ogbodo, former Editor of The Guardian.
According to the organisers, the lecture series aims to stimulate critical conversations around governance, electoral accountability, and public service delivery in Nigeria.
The event will be hosted by Mr. Shedrack Onitsha, Secretary of the Advocate Lecture Series Board of Council.
