The leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat, have been released from Kaduna Correctional Centre pursuant to the Order of Court mandating their immediate release.
The duo were released from the correctional centre on Wednesday evening, Femi Falana (SAN), their lawyer confirmed.
Justice Gideon Kurada of the Kaduna State High Court had on Wednesday acquitted and discharged El-Zakzaky and his wife who have been standing trial since 2015 by security agencies.
Falana, however, disclosed that the Islamic preacher and his wife have jetted out of the state to unknown destination.
