The Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom in Delta State, His Majesty Albert Akpomudje, SAN, FCIArb, Eyavwie-Alaka 1, has emerged as the 54th chairman of the Body of Benchers.

The Urhobo monarch succeeded the former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, as chairman.

The Body of Benchers (BoB) is the highest regulatory body for the legal profession in Nigeria, established under the Legal Practitioners Act to regulate legal practitioners and oversee the call-to-bar ceremony.

BoB comprises top judges, senior advocates, and eminent lawyers. It sets professional standards, admits new legal practitioners, and disciplines erring members.

Eyavwie-Alaka 1, a seasoned lawyer, is the 14th and current Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom in Delta State.

He was crowned on November 15, 2025.
