BREAKING: Rivers Poll: Wike wins Amaechi’s LGA as PDP clears eight LGAs, Awara takes two

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the governorship election in the state has cleared results of the eight LGAs of the ten LGAs announced so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as collation goes on break.

The candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Biokpomabo Awara, who has the backing of the Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotomi Amaechi, has won two LGAs

Wike of the PDP defeated Amaechi in his Ikwere LGA in the result announced by INEC as at 2:15pm on Tuesday.


In the results declared so far, PDP has won Port Harcourt City, Andoni, Eleme, Opobo/Nkoro, Bonny, Okrika, Ikwere and Omuma LGAs.
