The police in Delta State have arrested a man for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl in Sapele Local Government Area of the state.
A Closed-circuit television (CCTV) installed in the apartment where the incident took place reportedly caught the man after earlier denying involvement.
Sources told our correspondent that the suspect simply identified Jomaph committed the act when the victim had gone to use the convenience.
While the victim was said to be using the convenience, the suspect reported sneaked into the room and allegedly raped the girl.
Jomaph, 30, allegedly carried out the crime last Wednesday.

“The CCTV installed in the premises captured the man sneaking into the room after the victim cried out of the toilet. The man denied the incident until a neighbour’s CCTV reviewed that they went into the room while the girl was still there”, a source aware of the incident told our correspondent.
Another source further stated that upon seeing the footage of the CCTV, the suspect started apologizing for his action until police operatives were invited to arrest him.
Confirming the incident, Delta Police spokesperson, DSP Onome Onowakpoyeya, said the victim was caught in CCTV footage after earlier denying his involvement.
Onowakpoyeya noted that the suspect later agreed committing the act when he was presented with the footage.
The victim was in the toilet when the suspect went to meet her. The girl came out crying but the man denied. The man said the girl was trying to tarnish his image.
“But later, they brought CCTV footage showing how the man went inside the toilet. I was told the man later agreed after he saw the footage. The man was arrested by police in Sapele.”
