The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Ede Dafinone, has congratulated the newly decorated Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG), Dankwara Adamu Mohammed, describing his promotion as a well-deserved recognition of professionalism and dedication to national service.
Speaking after attending the decoration ceremony on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, Senator Dafinone commended DIG Dankwara’s exemplary record in the Nigeria Police Force, noting that his elevation to the rank of DIG was a testament to his years of discipline, commitment, and integrity in policing.
“Congratulations to DIG Mohammed Dankwara on this well-deserved promotion, which recognises his outstanding professionalism, discipline, and long-standing commitment to the Nigeria Police Force and our nation,” Dafinone said.

The Delta Central senator also lauded the Police Service Commission (PSC) for upholding merit and excellence in its promotion processes, saying that such standards were crucial for strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.
Expressing confidence in the new DIG’s capacity to perform, Dafinone said: “I am confident that DIG Dankwara will continue to demonstrate exemplary leadership and integrity in the discharge of his new responsibilities, contributing to the strengthening of the Police Force and the security of lives and property across Nigeria.”

He further extended his best wishes to DIG Dankwara for continued success in his service to the nation.
The ceremony was attended by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, top politicians and other senior police officers.
