Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has congratulated His Royal Majesty, Engr. Michael Ogheneovo Orugbo, JP, KP, Okporua I, the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, on his official presentation of the Staff of Office by the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori.
In a congratulatory message issued on Friday, Dafinone described the event as a proud and historic moment for Udu Kingdom and the entire Urhobo nation.
According to the lawmaker, the monarch’s ascension to the throne was a reflection of his exemplary leadership qualities, professional accomplishments, and dedication to community service.
“Your ascension to the throne stands as a testament to your outstanding leadership qualities, a successful professional career, and a deep commitment to serving humanity. I am convinced that your reign will bring renewed hope, progress, and stability to Udu Kingdom,” Dafinone stated.
He also commended the people of Udu Kingdom for the peaceful and harmonious process that led to the monarch’s selection, coronation, and subsequent presentation of the Staff of Office.
The senator urged all indigenes of Udu to remain united and loyal to their monarch, noting that collective support and cooperation were vital to sustaining peace and development in the kingdom.
“As you embark on this sacred journey of royal service, I pray that Almighty God grants you divine wisdom, sound health, and long life. May your reign be marked by peace, prosperity, and unity,” he added.
Dafinone expressed optimism that under the leadership of HRM Orugbo, Udu Kingdom would continue to thrive as a beacon of cultural pride and progress in Delta State.
