Dafinone Felicitates Disu on Appointment As Acting IGP, Charges Him On Security Reforms

Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has congratulated Mr. Tunji Disu on his appointment as Acting Inspector-General of Police by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a goodwill message dated February 26, 2026, the senator described the appointment as well-deserved, noting that it reflects Disu’s professionalism, dedication, and steadfast commitment to service in the Nigerian Police Force.

 

Dafinone said the Acting IGP’s steady rise through the ranks of the police force, marked by discipline, courage, and exemplary leadership, has earned him national confidence and positioned him for the critical responsibility of leading the country’s foremost law enforcement agency.

 

According to the lawmaker, Disu has consistently demonstrated competence, integrity, and a firm grasp of contemporary policing challenges, qualities he said are urgently needed at this time.

 

As he assumes office, the senator urged the new police chief to bring his wealth of experience to bear in tackling the nation’s pressing insecurity challenges, including kidnapping for ransom, banditry, and recurring farmers-herders conflicts that continue to threaten lives and national stability.
