As Muslims across Nigeria and the world mark this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid, Senator Ede Dafinone has congratulated Muslim Ummah, urging reflection on the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
In a goodwill message released on Friday, Senator Dafinone, who represents Delta Central in the Senate, described Eid-ul-Mawlid as a sacred occasion that offers an opportunity for deep reflection on the Prophet’s enduring virtues—peace, compassion, tolerance, and unity.
“Eid-ul-Mawlid is a period of reflection on the life, virtues, and teachings of the Holy Prophet—whose message of peace, compassion, tolerance, and unity remains ever relevant in our time,” Dafinone said.
He encouraged Muslims in Delta Central, Delta State, and across the nation to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and national progress, especially at a time when Nigeria continues to face socio-political and economic challenges.
“Let us continue to work together across ethnic and religious lines to strengthen the bonds that unite us as one people under God,” he added.
Senator Dafinone further emphasized the importance of promoting love, kindness, and generosity, particularly toward the less privileged, as a means of honouring the legacy of the Prophet.
“On this special day, I also call on all Nigerians to show love to one another, extend a helping hand to the needy, and promote harmony in our communities,” he stated.
