Dafinone Mourns Murdered Delta’s Ethiope East Vice Chairman, Calls For Thorough Investigation

Incumbent Delta Central lawmaker, Senator Ede Dafinone,  has strongly condemned the gruesome murder of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Vice Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Ese Idisi, describing the killing as “brutal, shocking and devastating.”

He said the assassination is a painful blow to the party, the deceased’s family, and Delta State.

 

The federal lawmaker described Mr. Idisi as a loyal and committed party man who served with “unwavering belief in democracy.”

 

Dafinone called on the Nigeria Police Force and relevant security agencies to immediately launch a “full-scale, transparent and uncompromising investigation” into the incident.

 

Senator Dafinone insisted that the perpetrators must be tracked down and prosecuted without delay.

 

“I call on the Nigeria Police Force and all relevant security agencies to immediately launch a full-scale, transparent, and uncompromising investigation into this heinous crime.

 

“Those behind the murder of Mr Idisi must be identified, apprehended, and prosecuted without delay. Justice must not only be served— it must be seen to be served”, the lawmaker emphasised.

Urging calm across the local government area, the senator appealed to APC members, supporters, and residents of Ethiope East to shun reprisals, warning that violence would only worsen the situation and derail the pursuit of justice.

 

He also called on community leaders, youths, and stakeholders to support security agencies with credible information that could speed up the investigation, emphasizing that “security is a collective responsibility.”

 

Dafinone extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the slain party chieftain, the APC leadership in Delta State, and the people of Ethiope East, describing Idisi’s death as a “colossal loss.”

 

“May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may justice prevail,” the statement added.
