The Senator representing Delta Central in the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ede Dafinone, has felicitated with the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom and chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty, Maj.-Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (rtd), Orhue I, describing the monarch’s birthday as a worthy moment to reflect on a reign marked by peace, unity and steady development.
In a statement on Thursday, Dafinone, who spoke on behalf of the Dafinone family and the people of Delta Central Senatorial District, said the Orodje’s leadership has continued to inspire confidence across the kingdom, noting that “when the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice.”
According to him, the Okpe Kingdom has in recent years witnessed “remarkable development and measurable economic growth,” driven by the monarch’s vision, foresight and commitment to uplifting communities. He added that the Orodje’s model of traditional governance has strengthened institutions and encouraged investment in the area.
Dafinone also lauded the royal father’s role as Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, describing him as a stabilising voice whose counsel has fostered ethnic cohesion and peaceful coexistence across the state.
“Your Majesty’s wisdom and diplomacy have been instrumental in maintaining socio-cultural balance in Delta. Your voice has remained one of reason at critical moments,” he said.
The senator joined the Okpe people and well-wishers worldwide in celebrating the monarch, praying for long life, good health and divine strength for the Orodje.
“May your reign continue to bring peace, unity and greater prosperity to the Okpe nation and Delta State,” he added.
