The Senator representing Delta Central in the National Assembly, Senator Ede Dafinone, has felicitated with Muslims in Delta Central, across Nigeria, and around the world on the occasion of Eid el-Fitr.
The Delta Central lawmaker urged Muslims to sustain the virtues imbibed during the holy month of Ramadan and promote peace and national unity.
In a statement issued on Friday, the lawmaker described Eid al-Fitr as a significant spiritual event marking the successful completion of Ramadan, a period dedicated to fasting, reflection, sacrifice, and spiritual renewal, as well as the beginning of the Islamic month of Shawwal.
He noted that Ramadan embodies enduring values such as patience, compassion, discipline, and generosity, which he said should not be discarded after the fasting period.
Dafinone urged Muslims and Nigerians in general to strengthen the bonds of unity within families, communities, and the nation, while also extending support to the less privileged in line with the teachings of the season.
The senator further stated that Eid al-Fitr represents a time for forgiveness, unity, and gratitude, calling on citizens to embrace peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and collective responsibility in building a more inclusive and compassionate society.
He also offered prayers for peace, joy, sound health, and abundant blessings for Muslim faithful and their loved ones.
Dafinone added that he wished Muslims a fulfilling and memorable Eid celebration.
