The Chief Medical Director of the Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, Dr. Onome Ogueh has assured that the ongoing construction of eighty-bedder and clinical buildings will be completed before the end of the year.

Ogueh, however, accused some unnamed staff of the hospital for sabotaging and attempting to destroy the hospital by allegedly stealing properties belonging to the teaching hospital.

The DELSUTH CMD stated this during a town hall meeting between management and staff of the institution held at its main auditorium.

He disclosed that following agreement reached with the contractors handling the ongoing renovation of the clinical and the eighty-bedder buildings, the two buildings would soon be ready for services.

According to him, upon completion, the buildings will open the hospital to new development and the desired repositioning of DELSUTH as one of the best teaching hospitals in Nigeria.

The CMD, however, commended staff for their support and cooperation since his appointment by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in 2016, saying that he was doing everything possible to reposition the institution through the effort of the state government.

While responding to questions from staff on the provision of working tools for staff, Dr Ogueh assured that current administration is well committed to providing conducive working environment for staff.

According to him, “The cry arising from the dilapidated state of the clinincal building was what compelled the Board of Management to draw the attention of the state government to see the need for a holistic renovation of the clinical building.”

Dr. Onome, who expressed satisfaction with performance of staff, said it would be difficult to single out anyone for reward as best staff during the hospital forthcoming Christmas  Nine Lessons and Carol where it appreciate staff who distinguished themselves  in the duty posts.

On his part, the Director of Administration, Mr Anthony Prezi warned staff of the hospital against lateness, saying that was necessary that staff work as a team in ongoing effort to reposition DELSUTH.
