Delta Holds Council Elections March 6

The Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) has fixed Saturday March 6, 2021 for local government elections in the state. 

DSIEC said the election would hold across the 25 local government councils in the state. 

Chairman of DSIEC, Mike Ogbodu, disclosed this on Tuesday in Asaba. 

The tenure of the present elected council officials would elapse on January 6, 2021.

The commission chairman noted that conduct of elections into the chairmanship seat and councillorship seats across the 25 Local Government Areas would be free, fair and credible. 

Ogbodu, who spoke with with leaders of registered political parties and other stakeholders in the state, assured that the commission is ready for the exercise. 

 He posited that the commission had released guidelines and timetable for the exercise. 

The DSIEC boss further stated that pre-election activities would commence immediately.
