Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun John Nani, has congratulated Vice Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Engr. Matthew Tonlagha, on his 50th birthday, describing him as a model of humility, service and lasting impact in the Niger Delta.
In a goodwill message on Sunday, Nani hailed Tonlagha as one of the region’s most respected civil engineers and entrepreneurs in the oil and gas servicing sector, noting that his influence extends far beyond corporate success.
The DESOPADEC chairman commended Tonlagha’s leadership role at Tantita Security Services, crediting the company’s operations with strengthening the protection of critical oil pipeline infrastructure, curbing vandalism and contributing significantly to the stability of national revenue.
According to Nani, Tonlagha’s effectiveness stems from a rare blend of technical expertise and deep understanding of the Niger Delta’s social realities, an approach he said has helped to promote sustainable peace and development in oil-producing communities.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Nani praised Tonlagha’s quiet but consistent commitment to philanthropy and community service, particularly his support for youth empowerment and grassroots initiatives that often attract little public attention.
“Engr. Tonlagha’s strength lies not just in what he does, but in how he does it—with humility, restraint and respect for people,” Nani said, adding that such values-driven leadership is increasingly scarce.
He described the celebrant as a positive symbol of Niger Delta enterprise—resilient, service-driven and focused on long-term impact—and wished him continued success as he contributes to the region’s growth, security and prosperity.
