The Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun John Nani, has congratulated the First Lady of Delta State and wife of the Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, on the occasion of her 56th birthday, describing her as a compassionate humanitarian and a consistent advocate for inclusive social policies.

In a congratulatory message on Thursday, Olorogun Nani praised the First Lady for her enduring commitment to philanthropy, women’s empowerment, and the welfare of vulnerable groups across the state, noting that her interventions have continued to complement government efforts in social development.

 

He specifically acknowledged her role as Founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation, which he said has become a veritable platform for restoring dignity, hope, and opportunities to women, children, and disadvantaged persons in Delta State.

 

“Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori exemplifies service without noise and leadership without arrogance. Her philanthropic work, particularly through the You Matter Charity Foundation, reflects a deep understanding of human needs and a sincere commitment to social justice,” Olorogun Nani said.

According to him, the First Lady’s initiatives have gone beyond charity to influencing positive social attitudes and policies that prioritise compassion, inclusion, and human dignity.

 

“At 56, Her Excellency stands as a moral compass whose quiet advocacy continues to shape conversations around care for the vulnerable, support for women, and protection of children. These values are critical to sustainable development,” he added.

The DESOPADEC Chairman also commended Deaconess Oborevwori for her stabilising role as a dependable support to Governor Oborevwori, noting that her humility, prayers, and counsel contribute significantly to the peaceful atmosphere that enables governance to thrive in the state.

“She brings grace to public life and strength to private responsibility. Delta State is fortunate to have a First Lady whose compassion translates into action and whose influence is felt across communities,” Olorogun Nani stated.

He prayed for continued good health, wisdom, and renewed strength for the First Lady, expressing confidence that her humanitarian legacy would continue to grow in impact and relevance.
