The founding leader of the Delta state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, says the chances of the party to rescuing Delta from the grip of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been brightened by the defection of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi.
Nwaoboshi, the senator representing Delta North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, dumped PDP for APC on Friday in Abuja.
The lawmaker, a former state chairman of Delta PDP, was received into the party by President Muhammadu Buhari and other leaders of the APC at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

However, Emerhor, who was the 2015 governorship candidate of the party, described Nwaoboshi’s defection as welcoming and had just brightened chances of party in the state.
He said the lawmaker made a right decision by dumping the “fast sinking ship” of the PDP in Delta and across the country.
According to him, “I’m happy to welcome my brother and friend, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, into the progressives family of APC.
“Senator Nwaoboshi is a big addition to the APC family in Delta. The distinguished Senator’s defection has made the task of rescuing Delta from grip of the PDP maladministration more easy and brightened.
