The founding leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State and prominent Urhobo statesman, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, OON, has expressed deep sorrow and shock over the death of Olorogun Oskar Ibru, Chairman of the Ibru Organisation, who passed on at the age of 67.
In a heartfelt condolence message issued on Friday, Emerhor described the late Ibru as “a visionary leader and a bright star of the Urhobo Nation,” whose death represents a monumental loss to Delta State and Nigeria as a whole.
“Olorogun Oskar was more than a successful businessman; he was a man of integrity, humility, and generosity. His death is painful, but we take solace in the impactful life he lived,” Emerhor stated.
Olorogun Emerhor, himself a respected industrialist and philanthropist, described the late Ibru as a bridge builder whose enterprise and generosity touched countless lives across communities.
He hailed Oskar’s role in sustaining the legacy of the iconic Ibru dynasty, noting that his contributions to commerce, philanthropy, and nation-building will remain etched in history.
“Olorogun Oskar Ibru was more than a successful businessman; he was a visionary leader who carried forward the enviable legacy of the Ibru dynasty with humility, grace, and uncommon dedication.
“Through his enterprise, philanthropy, and investments across diverse sectors, he touched countless lives and built bridges that strengthened communities and gave hope to many.
“The Urhobo Nation has lost one of its bright stars—a man who represented the values of hard work, integrity, and service. His passing at a relatively young age is painful, yet we must take solace in the impactful life he lived and the enduring contributions he made to humanity”, the statement read.
Extending his condolences to Oskar Ibru’s wife, children, and the extended Ibru family, Emerhor urged them to draw strength from the indelible legacy their patriarch left behind.
“On behalf of my family, I extend heartfelt condolences to the Ibru family, and the entire Urhobo Nation. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
He prayed for the fortitude for all affected to bear the loss and described Oskar Ibru’s passing as a reminder of the fleeting nature of life and the enduring power of legacy.
