Gov Umahi re-elected as INEC declares PDP winner of Ebonyi guber

Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. David Umahi has been declared winner of the march 9 Governorship election in the state.


The State Returning Officer, Prof Frank Chukwuemeka Eze said that the PDP candidate scored 393,043 votes to beat his closest rival and candidate of the APC, Senator Sonni Ogbuoji.


Ogbuoji scored 81,703 votes to come distant second while SDP candidate, Prince Chibueze Agbo came third with 1,129 votes in the Saturday’s elections.

According to the Returning Officer, the total number of registered voters in t state stood at 1,432,528 while total of number of Accredited Voters 498,291, total valid votes, 482,018 ,total votes cast, 493,02.

Other parties were AA 122 Votes, AP, 45 ACD 181, ACPM 103, ZLP, 294, LP 211, PDC 376, PPM 681, UPP 28 votes among others.


Announcing the result, Prof. Eze of Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State said ” That Mr. David Umahi of PDP having certified the required law and scored the highest vote is declared winner and returned elected.”
