Barely days after his inauguration as the member representing Ika Nation on the Governing Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Hon. Cosmas Igbenije has commenced project oversight with an inspection of the Commission’s ongoing Zonal Office project in Agbor.
The inspection, carried out on Friday, comes as part of the new board member’s pledge to ensure quality infrastructure delivery and strengthen DESOPADEC’s presence across oil-producing communities.
During the visit, Igbenije assessed the pace and quality of work at the construction site, expressing satisfaction with the progress recorded while stressing the need for the contractor to maintain approved specifications, high construction standards and completes the project within schedule.
According to him, the Agbor Zonal Office will significantly improve DESOPADEC’s operational efficiency and make the Commission’s services more accessible to residents of Ika Nation and other benefiting communities within the zone.
The newly inaugurated board member reaffirmed the commitment of the DESOPADEC Governing Board, led by Chairman, Olorogun John Nani, and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Chief Festus Ochonogor, to delivering impactful development projects in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.
Igbenije assured stakeholders that he would provide effective representation for Ika Nation by closely monitoring ongoing projects and championing initiatives aimed at improving the socio-economic wellbeing of the people.
He said project monitoring and accountability would remain key priorities throughout his tenure to ensure communities derive maximum benefits from DESOPADEC interventions.
