Senator Ede Dafinone has urged Nigerians to remain resilient amid the economic hardship confronting the country, expressing optimism that the sacrifices being made under the ongoing reforms of the President Bola Tinubu administration will ultimately produce a stronger Nigeria.
Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District, made the call in a statement marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary on Thursday.
The senator acknowledged the difficult economic realities facing millions of Nigerians, but said the reforms were beginning to produce results that should encourage citizens to persevere.
> “These are difficult times, but the emerging results of the Tinubu administration’s reforms should strengthen our resolve to persevere,” he said.
Dafinone said the government’s efforts were aimed at restoring economic stability, expanding opportunities and improving the standard of living of Nigerians.
Quoting the Bible, he added, “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning,” urging Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue praying for the country’s leadership.
He specifically called on Nigerians to support the policies of the Federal Government as the country navigates what he described as a period of “national economic adjustment.”
The Delta Central lawmaker also urged residents of Delta State and the Delta Central Senatorial District to continue supporting Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
According to him, stronger cooperation between the Federal Government and Delta State remains critical to driving development, attracting investment and creating opportunities for citizens.
Dafinone said Nigeria’s future depended on unity, perseverance and a collective commitment to national development.
“Together, we can build a new Nigeria where peace prevails and every citizen has the opportunity to pursue and achieve their dreams,” he said.
He added that if Nigerians remained united and endured the current difficulties, “a brighter chapter lies ahead.”
Dafinone congratulated President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, the people of Delta Central and all Nigerians on the 66th Independence Anniversary, while praying for peace and prosperity in Delta State and Nigeria.
