Legal titan and vice chairman of the Nigerian Body of Benchers, His Royal Majesty Albert Akpomudje, SAN, has been crowned as the 14 Ohworode of ancient Olomu Kingdom in Delta State.
The historic coronation of the new Ohworode was held at Eyanvien Hall inside Igboze Ancestral Holy Ground at Otorere-Ollomu in Olomu, Ughelli South Local Government Area at about 9:56am on Saturday.
Akpomudje was crowned as Eyanvwien-Alaka 1, being the first king to be produced by the Eyanvwien Royal Ruling House of Olomu Kingdom.
Eyanvwien-Alaka 1 was crowned by Olorogun Philip Korobor Atuduhor, the Okpako r’ Illorogun (Oldest Chief) of Olomu kingdom at 9.56am and was consecrated by Archbishop of Bendel Province, Dr. Cyril Odotemu, which was followed by a 21 cannon shots.
Immediately after the crowning, the monarch was escorted in a long motorcade to Eyanvien Royal Hall at Oviri Olomu, headquarters of Eyanvien Ruling House where he was received with 14 cannon shots symbolizing the 14th Ohworode of Olomu kingdom.
The event followed the rotational succession arrangement among Olomu’s three Ruling Houses and marks a new chapter in the kingdom’s leadership.
