Two suspected thieves have been killed after angry mob beat them to death after an unsuccessful robbery operation.

The thieves who were identified to be, Uchenna Ezekonyi and Mbachu Sunday, aged 27 and 30 respectively, were alleged to have trailed one, Emoghene Moses from Zenith Bank, PLC, Abraka, who was reported to have withdrew a sum of N250,000 from the bank.

It was reported that the victim raised alarm after the two men robbed him of his money. However, his cry drew the attention of people,who gave the robbers a hot chase, after which they were apprehended.

During questioning from the angry mob, it was revealed that both men are natives of Imo State. They also confessed to having carried out such activities in Asaba.

Claiming that they stay close to the bank to monitor those coming out of the bank with large parcels before dispossessing them of the cash.

Angered by the confessions, the mob beat up the culprits with heavy objects, leaving them with high degree of injuries. However, they culprits were reported dead on the way to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Delta State,Commissioner of Police (CP), Adeleke Adeyinka confirmed the development. Stating that, it is true that such an incident happened but we are not happy about the idea of jungle justice.
