The Delta State chapter of the Movement for the Restoration and Defense of Democracy (MRDD) has described as a ‘hoax’ it alleged endorsement of Govenror Ifeanyi Okowa of the PDP for Saturday’s governorship poll in the state.

MRDD said its governorship candidate for the election, Engr. Lucky Oyovwi was fully in the race to defeat the incumbent Governor Okowa and the APC candidate, Chief Great Ogboru in the much anticipated election.

In a statement signed by the state chairman of MRDD, Engr. Johnson Ajeboghuku, a copy of it made available to WARRI TODAY, said the party remains the best option for Deltans for total liberation and economic development.

The statement called on the people of the state and supporters of its governorship candidate, Engr. Oyovwi across the state to come out en masse to cast their votes for the party in Saturday March 9th 2019 election.

According to it, “The Delta State Chairman of MRDD, Engr. Johnson Ajeboghuku wishes to state unequivocally that MRDD is still in the governorship race in Delta State with Engr. Lucky Oyovwi as our Sole Candidate.

“The purported adoption of the incumbent governor is a hoax.”

Ajeboghuku, in the statement added that Oyovwi while addressing his supporters said he remained committed to winning the governorship election on Saturday to bring the desired growth for all Deltans.
