Members of the National Association of Seadogs (NAS), Rainbow Deck, Effurun, on Saturday brought relief and smiles to children of St. Anne’s Orphanage Home, Effurun, in Uvwie, Delta State, as part of their annual humanitarian outreach.
The delegation led by the Capoon of NAS Rainbow Deck, Effurun, Mr. Emmanuel Omamoke Okworu, donated a water pumping machine, food items and toiletries to support the welfare of the children in line with Sustainable Development Goals number 2 and 6.
Presenting the items, Okworu said the gesture was a reflection of the Association’s long-standing commitment to community service and social responsibility.
He explained that Rainbow Deck has consistently prioritised support for vulnerable groups within society.
“This visit to St. Anne’s Orphanage is an annual exercise aimed at giving back to society and putting smiles on the faces of less-privileged children,” he said.
Okworu disclosed that the water pumping machine was donated in response to a specific request made by the orphanage during an earlier needs assessment visit, while the food items and toiletries were added in keeping with the Association’s tradition of giving.
Capoon of NAS Rainbow Deck, Effurun, further said the outreach was in line with the core ideals of the National Association of Seadogs, one of which centres on humanistic service to society.
He urged members to sustain the culture of selfless giving, stressing that real impact is achieved when organisations channel support efforts to institutions that care for society’s most vulnerable.

Receiving the donations, the management of St. Anne’s Orphanage Home expressed deep appreciation to the National Association of Seadogs and Rainbow Deck for their consistency and compassion.
They noted that the water pumping machine and other items would significantly ease the daily needs of the children and prayed for continued strength, unity and success for the Association.
