Ndokwa East Stakeholders Pass Vote Of Confidence On Tinubu, Oborevwori DESOPADEC

Stakeholders in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State on Wednesday, passed a unanimous vote of confidence on President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC).

The endorsement was made during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting convened at the instance of Dr. Charles Olisa, Member representing the Ndokwa ethnic nationality on the DESOPADEC Governing Board.

Those in attendance included the Executive Committee of HOSTCOM, Presidents-General of Ndokwa East clans, Community Development Committee (CDC) chairmen and other community leaders.

The stakeholders said their decision was informed by what they described as sustained development initiatives, improved engagement with host communities and impactful governance at both state and federal levels.

 

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Olisa highlighted key interventions of DESOPADEC in Ndokwa communities, including infrastructural projects, social empowerment programmes and environmental sustainability initiatives.

He noted that the commission remains committed to equitable development across oil-producing communities, stressing that ongoing projects are tailored towards improving living standards and fostering long-term growth.

Several speakers at the meeting commended Dr. Olisa for his accessibility and consistent engagement with community leaders, adding that DESOPADEC’s activities have become more visible in Ndokwa East.

The motion for the vote of confidence was moved by Chief Prince Richard Obi and seconded by Chief Sunday Okiah, with HOSTCOM Chairman, Pst. Samuel Enebeli, and other leaders aligning with the position.

 

Dr. Olisa also urged community leaders to promote peace, safeguard oil facilities and maintain harmonious relationships with oil companies operating in the area.

He assured stakeholders that Governor Oborevwori’s “More Agenda” and President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Initiative” are being implemented in ways that will positively impact oil-producing communities, reaffirming DESOPADEC’s commitment to sustainable development and community empowerment in Ndokwa Nation.
