The Nigeria Liquid Natural Gas Limited (“NLNG”) in Bonny, Rivers state, has debunked engaging any third party to train or recruit applicants for its anticipated Train 7.

Andy Odeh, NLNG Manager, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, in statement yesterday said the clarification became imperative following the company’s realisation of an oil and gas training being organised by some firms allegedly for NLNG’s Train 7 Project.

The company statement noted that, “The organisers, in the publicity material, allege that NLNG mandated consultants to organise training sessions for those interested in participating in the project.

“They also claim that attendees of these training shall be enlisted for employment in the database of the main Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor.”

NLGN in the disclaimer said it, “expressly disassociates itself from this training programme and collaborating with any company for the recruitment of personnel for its Train 7 Project.

“No company has been awarded the EPCContract for Train 7 as the selection process is still ongoing. Members of the public are hereby urged to take necessary steps to verify claims of persons purporting to act on behalf of NLNG.

“The public is also advised not to make financial transactions in response to such claims and to report any of such incidents to the appropriate law enforcement agencies as our website and credible national media remain sources of information regarding Train 7 project”

The company further disclaims any liability for any losses incurred by any person “as a result of reliance on such fraudulent communications and engagements.”
