Deputy President of the 9th Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has expressed deep shock on the passing of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, two-time senator that represented Delta North, describing him as a champion of equity, good governance, and community development.
Reacting to news of his demise, Omo-Agege said in a statement he personally signed that Nwaoboshi was an astute grassroots politician with exceptional leadership attributes and steadfast commitment to the progress of Delta North, Delta State and Nigeria.
His statement reads: “It is with profound sorrow and deep regret that I received the news of the passing of my dear friend, confidant, and former colleague, Distinguished Senator Peter Onyelukachi Nwaoboshi.
“Senator Nwaoboshi’s legacy as a champion of equity, good governance, and community development will forever be remembered. As a former colleague in the Senate, I recall his astute grassroots politics, exceptional leadership, and steadfast commitment to the progress of Delta North and Nigeria. His contributions to our nation’s development, particularly in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, have left an indelible mark.
“Senator Nwaoboshi’s passion for social justice, equality, and fairness was inspiring. His advocacy for the marginalized and vulnerable will continue to inspire generations. I remember him as a man of great integrity, a statesman of unimpeachable character, and a leader with a heart for service. His infectious smile, warm personality, and generosity endeared him to many, and his absence will be deeply felt.
