Egbo, who currently serves as Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, is widely regarded as a seasoned grassroots mobiliser and administrator with years of experience in public service and political organisation.

His emergence at the helm of DESAAA is expected to inject renewed energy into the agency’s regulatory and revenue-enhancement mandate.

Governor Oborevwori, who has been in office since May 2023, has consistently emphasised inclusive development and administrative reforms under his MORE agenda, which focuses on meaningful development, opportunities for all, realistic reforms, and enhanced peace and security.

Reacting to the appointment, Olorogun Egbo expressed profound gratitude to the governor for what he described as a vote of confidence in his leadership capacity.

“I am deeply honoured by this appointment and sincerely appreciate His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for finding me worthy to serve in this important capacity. This responsibility will further inspire me to contribute my quota to the growth and development of Delta State,” Egbo said.

He pledged his unalloyed support to the administration’s MORE agenda, assuring that the agency under his leadership would work diligently to enhance internally generated revenue, ensure regulatory compliance in outdoor advertising, and promote environmental aesthetics across the state.

“The MORE agenda represents a practical pathway to sustainable development in Delta State. I am fully committed to supporting His Excellency in delivering on this vision and ensuring that government policies translate into real benefits for our people,” he added.

Egbo also reaffirmed his dedication to the objectives of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, noting that the group remains focused on mobilising grassroots support for progressive governance and national development.

“As the Ughelli North Local Government Area Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, I remain steadfast in advancing the group’s goals of unity, empowerment, and citizen participation in governance. We will continue to work collaboratively to strengthen democratic values and development-driven leadership,” he stated.

Political observers say the appointment reflects ongoing efforts by the state government to balance administrative competence with grassroots political inclusion, particularly in strategic sectors such as signage regulation and urban revenue management.

Egbo’s experience in local government administration and political mobilisation is expected to play a significant role in repositioning DESAAA to meet contemporary governance and regulatory challenges.
