Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and members across the South-South region to fully embrace the ongoing digital membership registration exercise, describing it as a pivotal move to modernize the party’s structure for enhanced accountability and inclusiveness.
Speaking on Thursday at the APC E-Registration Hands-On Device/Application Train-the-Trainer Workshop held at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, Governor Oborevwori revealed that Delta State had already registered over 280,000 members in compliance with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive.
He emphasized that the current phase focuses on validating existing members by linking their details with their National Identification Numbers (NIN) while also expanding the register to accommodate new entrants.
“This two-day training is very important. It is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the process, so that when you return to your respective states, you will be able to train others effectively,” he said.
The governor reaffirmed his confidence in the APC’s unity and strength across the South-South, asserting the party’s dominance in the region.
Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Emma Eneukwu, commended Oborevwori’s leadership and the infrastructural progress in Delta State. He described the e-registration initiative as a historic innovation aligning the party with global standards of transparency.
Also, Deputy National Organising Secretary, Hon. Nze Chidi Duru, praised the exercise as a unique reform that strengthens internal democracy and accountability within the APC.
Delta State APC Chairman, Engr. Omeni Sobotie, hailed Governor Oborevwori as “a rare gift to the South-South and the entire nation,” asserting that under his leadership, the APC is an unstoppable political force.
