The fresh arrests have now pushed the number of suspects in custody to 15, in what authorities describe as a major breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the Oramudu Quarters incident.

Acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Aina Adesola, the CP Special Assignment Team launched an intensive probe, combing through disturbing video footage and intelligence trails that exposed more alleged perpetrators.

Those arrested include Samson Atukpodo, Steven Ovie, Ugbevo Samson, Afoke Akporobaro, Evidence Oguname, and six others whose identities are yet to be made public.

Police authorities say the unfolding findings paint a grim picture: criminal elements allegedly hijacked the situation, unleashing acts of sexual violence that have since triggered outrage across Delta and beyond.

“This is not culture. This is crime,” the Command declared, distancing the heinous acts from any form of traditional practice.

Condemning the development, Adesola vowed that the Command would stop at nothing to bring all perpetrators to justice.

He reassured residents that efforts were ongoing to identify, arrest, and prosecute everyone involved in accordance with the law.

The Command also called on victims and witnesses to come forward with credible information, assuring that all disclosures would be handled with strict confidentiality.
