Resignation: Delta APC Passes Vote Of Confidence On Oshiomhole

Oshiomhole, APC National Chairman

By Eseoghene Emuke

A faction of the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by Prophet Jones Erue has passed a vote of confidence on the embattled national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole.

The Erue-led faction said Oshiomhole remains the best man to lead the ruling APC for the now irrespective of the call for his removal.

Mr Sylvester Imonina, Delta APC’s Publicity Secretary, stated this in a statement.

Imonina noted that those calling for Oshiomhole removal or resignation were those who failed to manipulate the party’s primary during the last primaries which produced the candidates of the party for the 2019 general elections.

He, however, added that those clamouring for the APC national chairman were disgruntled minority members of the party.

Imonina said, “The voice of the people is the voice of God. H.E. Adams Oshiomhole is a product of the voice of the people. Those who are rooting for his removal/sack are those in minority, whom he refused to yield to their manipulations before, during and after the Party’s primaries.

“APC, Delta State, under the leadership of Prophet Jones Ode Erue is comfortable with the leadership style of H.E. Adams Oshiomhole.

“For now, we have no reason to call or support the call for his resignation, as being touted by those persons whose stock in trade is promotion of rift in the Party.”

It could be recall that the Deputy National Chairman of the party, Lawal Shuaibu had earlier called for Oshiomhole’s resignation over alleged high-handedness and dictatorship as chairman.
