The Senator representing Delta Central, Senator Ede Dafinone, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mr. Sunny Kotor, Senior Special Assistant on Protocol to the Delta State Government.
Kotor reportedly passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026.
In a statement on Monday, Dafinone described the late aide as a dedicated and disciplined officer whose service to the state stood out.
“I received with deep sadness the news of the sudden passing of Mr. Sunny Kotor. His demise is a painful loss, not only to the government but to all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him,” the senator said.
He noted that the deceased brought professionalism and excellence to his role as Protocol Officer, ensuring smooth coordination of government functions.
“Mr. Kotor was a consummate professional whose dedication, discipline, and attention to duty stood him out. He served with quiet efficiency and unwavering commitment,” he added.
Dafinone also commiserated with the Delta State Government, describing the late aide as a loyal and dependable officer whose absence would be deeply felt.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Delta State Government on the loss of such a dependable officer. His contributions will not be forgotten,” he said.
The lawmaker further sympathised with the family of the deceased, urging them to take solace in his legacy of service.
“To his family, I offer my deepest sympathies. I pray that God grants you the strength and comfort needed in this difficult time,” he stated.
He prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul.
