Prince John Elom, immediate past coordinator of Ukaba Development Centre (UDC) has petitioned the Ebonyi State governor, Engr. David Umahi following an alleged threat to his life.

Elom alleged that some powerful politicians in Onicha local government area of the state were after his life and those of his relations.

Addressing  journalists in Abakaliki , the former UDC chairman also accused a clergy from the community of being a party to the heated plot to eliminate him.

He, however, appealed to the Governor Umahi to come to his safety by calling the “powerful politicians” to order.

According to him, suspected thugs loyal to the said “power brokers” have been after him and that they fatally attacked his brother, Chief Chidi John Elom and his two supporters; Ubanna Epoto and James Odah.

He said, “That the thugs have been threatening thunder and brimstone and embolden their puppets to carry out more attacks on his supporters.”

Elom further alleged that he has survived two assassination attempts
within three months during which his 505 2.0 evolution Peugeot car was
destroyed beyond repairs.

According to him, he has petitioned security agents in the state and the state Governor over his brother’s attack and that of two other victims which almost left brother dead.

Elom’s brother, Chief Chidi and his supporters after they were attacked.

He said,  “I wish to condemn unequivocally the grand efforts by this group of power peddlers to run my community like a colony and victimize all who challenge their monopoly. I pray that God will liberate my people from
the clutches of these modern day colonial masters.

“I have written to the Executive Governor of the state concerning
these issues and hope for an exhaustive and comprehensive
investigation to forestall a breakdown of law and order in our community”, he said.

“I believe strongly that the triumph of bad over good is temporary, and that ultimately the God of justice shall arise and reward everybody according to their works”, he stated
