The Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba, the state capital, has been forced to suspend ruling on the petition filed by Chief Great Ogboru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging the electoral victory of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of the Peoples Democratic over power outage at the tribunal.

The chairman of the tribunal, Justice Sulaiman Bolgore, who led other panel members into the court room immediately announced the temporal suspension of ruling until power was restored to the tribunal premises.

WARRI TODAY observed that concerted efforts are currently being made to restore power to the premises to enable the panel reconvene.

The ruling which was billed to commence at about 10am on Friday, however, started behind time.

The generating set had since morning been tripping on and off thereby putting the hall in darkness.

The hall is currently filled to capacity by supporters of the two parties.

Ogboru is challenging the outcome of the March 9, 2019 won Governor Okowa.
