The Urhobo Consultative Forum (UCF) has congratulated Ede Dafinone on his appointment as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs, describing it as a fitting reward for “proven leadership and integrity.”
In a statement, the group said the appointment, approved by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, underscores Dafinone’s “unwavering commitment to national service” and signals confidence in his capacity to drive fairness and balanced representation across the federation.
UCF noted that the elevation is not only a personal milestone for the lawmaker but also “a proud moment for the Urhobo nation and Delta Central Senatorial District.”
The forum expressed optimism that under Dafinone’s leadership, the committee would deepen intergovernmental collaboration and ensure transparent and inclusive implementation of the Federal Character principle.
It added that such efforts are critical to strengthening national unity and achieving sustainable development.
Reaffirming its backing, UCF pledged continued support to the senator as he assumes the role, while wishing him “divine wisdom, strength and success” in the discharge of his duties.
