It was an array of royalty and colourful display of the rich culture and traditions of the people of Ogbe-ljoh Warri Kingdom as the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori and the Executive Director, Social Services, DESOPADEC, Chief Favour Izoukumor
joined traditional rulers, chiefs, captains of industries and people from all works of life Thursday 26th of September, 2025 to felicitate with the Pere Ama- Okosu of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom on his 10th year coronation anniversary.
The Governor, who was ably represented by the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor hailed the Monarch for his kind disposition and commitment to peaceful co-existence amongst the various tribes in Ogbe-ljoh Warri Kingdom, describing him as a true patriot who is working assiduously to ensure peace and unity in bringing about the much needed development in the kingdom.
The Governor, who attributed the swift intervention and restoration of peace, law and order in the recent impasse between the Ijaws and their Itsekiri brothers, said it was a characteristic display of wisdom and leadership on the part of the monarch as a truly dedicated lover of peace, adding that government shall continue to work for the interest of all irrespective of tribe, creed or political affiliation.
The Pere Ama-Okosu of Ogbe-ljoh Warri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, MONBENE 111, who ascended the ancient throne of his forefathers on the 20th of September, 2015 thanked God for His benevolence upon his life, family and subjects in the past ten years.
The royal father in a welcome address read by the Fiyewei (Spokesperson) of Ogbe-ljoh Warri Kingdom and Executive Director Social Services, EDSS DESOPADEC, Chief Favour Izoukumor expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, for his love, unbroken relationship and prompt response to ensuring peace and providing adequate security for lives and properties in the kingdom housing the Ijaws, Urhobos and Itsekiris and bringing them to a common ground for peace and unity at all times.

The royal father equally expressed gratitude to members of the State Council of traditional rulers, Chiefs and other royal fathers from across the nation who came to celebrate with him on this auspicious occasion, praying God to reward them with peaceful reigns in their various Kingdoms.
The royal father used the occasion to appeal to the Governor to re-open the Ogbe-ljoh Health Center which is in a deplorable state.
“Your Excellency, our community has been ravaged by communal clashes in the last decades with our neighbors on both sides, leading to wanton destruction of lives and properties. We therefore crave your indulgence to look into our plight and re-open the Ogbe-ljoh Health Center, construct a concrete landing jetty, pall sea wall and clear delineation/bonafide owners of the disputed land area amongst others.

On his part, the Executive Director Social Services, Chief Favour Izoukumor saluted the courage and resilience of his royal father, noting that he has remained a steadfast custodian and guardian of our heritage and reiterated his commitment to sustain the momentum of the existing peace while appealing to the youths on both divide to embrace dialogue rather than war in order to bring in the much needed development, peace, progress and prosperity as amplified by his Excellency Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E agenda that no economy can thrive in an atmosphere of rancor, violence and total breakdown of law and order.
Also speaking, the Executive Director Finance and Administration, EDFA, on the Board of DESOPADEC, Chief Oghenekome Okpobor who conveyed the message of goodwill on behalf of the Board to the Monarch said that “Peace in our host communities is our priority. We are here to support our royal fathers in their efforts at preaching peace to their subjects and finding lasting solutions as we all collectively work the part of peace.”
Others who equally lent their voices at the event were High Chief Kestin Pondi, CEO/MD, Tantita Security Services and who is also the Chairman of the anniversary Planning Committee; Chief Boro Opudu, Chairman, Delta State Waterways Security; Chief Rita Youghaware and a host of other dignities who opined that all hands must be on deck to ensure that peace is achieved in our land for, in unity we stand and divided we fall.
Highpoint of the week long event was conferment of chieftaincy titles on 46 illustrious sons and daughters of the Ogbe-ljoh Warri Kingdom, presentation of gifts and paying of homage to the royal father, various traditional rites and display of the rich culture of the Ijaw people.
