As political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has called on newly inaugurated executives of the Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie (OSU) Federal Constituency Political Forum, Uvwie Chapter, to commence immediate grassroots mobilisation in support of President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori.
Dafinone made the call during the inauguration ceremony held at Alegbo Primary School in Uvwie Local Government Area, expressing confidence that the All Progressives Congress would emerge victorious in the next electoral cycle.
The lawmaker hinged his optimism on what he described as bold and necessary economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration, noting that the President took over a fragile economy but has shown strong leadership in reversing the trend.
He cited the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange rate as decisive steps that have blocked systemic leakages and repositioned the nation’s economy for growth, describing Tinubu as the “most prepared and qualified” leader Nigeria has elected.
On the state level, Dafinone commended Governor Oborevwori for what he termed visible development strides across Delta State, insisting that his performance justifies continuity beyond 2027.
He urged party faithful to remain united and committed to deepening the governor’s “M.O.R.E Agenda” at the grassroots.
The senator also praised the National Coordinator of the OSU Forum, Solomon Ighrakpata, for fostering unity and encouraging inclusive political participation within the constituency.
Earlier, Ighrakpata formally inaugurated the Uvwie Chapter executives led by Anthony Ofoni, charging them to work assiduously towards delivering massive electoral support for both the President and the Governor in the forthcoming elections.
In his acceptance speech, Ofoni assured stakeholders of an inclusive leadership style, pledging that his team would mobilise support across all wards in Uvwie to secure victory for the APC in 2027.
The event attracted prominent political stakeholders, including Efe Uko, Kingsley Esiso, Edafe Emakpor, James Augoye, Perkins Umukoro, and Evelyn Oboro, as well as youth groups and other party supporters.
