Frontline Delta South senatorial aspirant, Sir Itiako Ikpokpo Malik, has taken his consultation drive to the Urhobo APC family in Warri South Local Government Area, canvassing support as he unveiled his C.L.U.E agenda for inclusive representation.
Ikpokpo, a former Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area, formally declared his intention to contest the Senate seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying his ambition is rooted in grassroots engagement and people-oriented leadership.
Addressing party leaders and members during an interactive session, the aspirant said his campaign is anchored on Communication, Legislate, Unite and Empower, a strategy he said would reconnect leadership with the people.
“My team is engaging constituents across Delta South to understand their needs. Our agenda is clear—to communicate effectively, legislate for the people, unite our communities and empower our citizens,” he said.
He identified poor communication between elected officials and constituents as a major gap in governance, pledging to prioritise accessibility and continuous engagement.
Ikpokpo said his legislative focus would address key socio-economic challenges, including infrastructure deficits, youth unemployment and limited economic opportunities in oil-producing communities.
He also stressed the need for unity across ethnic lines in Delta South, describing cohesion as critical to political stability and development.
“The people are at the centre of my aspiration. They know me and can hold me accountable. Leadership must be accessible and responsible,” he added.
The aspirant dismissed recent endorsement claims in parts of the district as a “non-issue,” insisting that political legitimacy must be earned through direct engagement with the electorate.
He called for unity within the APC, urging party leaders to ensure a transparent and credible process ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ikpokpo also reaffirmed support for President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, calling for consolidation of governance gains through massive electoral backing.
Responding, leaders of the Warri Urhobo APC Forum, including Chairman Olorogun Bernard Okumagba, Secretary Chief Vincent Okudolor and Woman Leader Ann Gagiyovwu, commended his consultative approach, describing it as inclusive.
They stressed the need for internal democracy within the party and pledged support for the re-election of Tinubu and Oborevwori.
The visit forms part of Ikpokpo’s ongoing consultations across Delta South ahead of party primaries and the 2027 general elections.
