A socio-political pressure group, Okpe Majority Group, has called on the founding leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, to contest the Delta Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections, declaring that the time has come to reward loyalty, sacrifice and grassroots labour.
In a statement signed by its Coordinator, Nikori Florence, the group described Olorogun Emerhor as the “backbone and burning flame” of the APC in Delta Central, crediting him with sustaining the party since its formative years in 2013.
According to the group, Emerhor, who was the first to contest for elective position on the APC platform in Nigeria, has invested personal resources, time and energy to build the APC from scratch, only to be “left in the shadows without appointment, title or recognition.”
“You have poured out your wealth, your sweat and your sleepless nights to build this party while others took the glory,” the statement read, adding that the neglect of such loyalty must now be corrected through the ballot.
The group said its call transcends politics, describing it as a “revolution of conscience”, while pledging unbreakable loyalty, grassroots mobilisation and total support ahead of the 2027 polls.
“Delta Central needs a senator with scars, not smooth talk. A man who knows how to rise from ruins,” the group declared.
The Okpe Majority Group said the senatorial district requires a representative with lived experience, resilience and deep understanding of the struggles of ordinary people, insisting that leadership should be earned through sacrifice, not opportunism.
The group also offered prayers for the aspirant, invoking Psalm 20:4, and expressed confidence that the political tide is turning in his favour.
“The time is now. The people are ready. We are behind you (Olorogun O’tega Emerhor) — with fire in our voices and votes in our hands,” the statement added.
