A former deputy governor of Delta State, Chief Benjamin Elue, has reportedly passed on.
Elue, who served as Deputy Governor of Delta State from 1999 to 2007 under Governor James Ibori, died in the early hours of Saturday.
He was aged 85. The deceased, born 1940, would have been 86 by June this year.
Elue, a retired educator turned entrepreneur, was said to be briefly sick before his passing.
According to sources, the former deputy governor was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
His death is coming barely two years after former Deputy Governor Amos Utuama, who served under former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, passed in 2024.
