The Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has welcomed the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to Agbor, describing him as a bridge-builder whose leadership continues to foster unity and drive sustainable development across the state.
Aniagwu made this known in a statement issued on Monday, ahead of the flag-off ceremony of the N59.7bn Uromi Junction Flyover in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area.
He said the project was a clear demonstration of the governor’s unwavering commitment to people-centred governance and purposeful infrastructure development, noting that it aligned with the administration’s resolve to address critical urban challenges.
According to him, the Agbor flyover, alongside the Otovwodo Junction Flyover in Ughelli and three others nearing completion at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout and Enerhen Junction, underscores the Oborevwori administration’s determination to decongest traffic and improve mobility in major cities across Delta State.
The commissioner stated that the Uromi Junction Flyover would significantly ease traffic flow, enhance road safety and stimulate economic activities within the Agbor metropolis and neighbouring communities.
He added that the project would also strengthen inter-state connectivity between Delta State and adjoining states, thereby boosting commerce and regional integration.
Aniagwu, speaking on behalf of the people of Ika Nation, expressed profound appreciation to the governor for siting the landmark project in Agbor, describing it as a historic intervention with far-reaching socio-economic benefits for present and future generations.
He assured residents that the project would be executed in line with the highest engineering standards, with strict supervision to guarantee quality delivery and timely completion.
The commissioner further noted that the Uromi Junction Flyover forms part of Governor Oborevwori’s broader infrastructure expansion drive under the MORE Agenda, aimed at improving urban mobility and enhancing the overall quality of life of Deltans.
