Ahead of the All Progressives Congress primary election scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026, the aspiration of former House of Representatives member, Hon. Chief Solomon Ahwinahwi, has received a major boost following his endorsement by party executives across Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu local government areas.

Ahwinahwi, a former two-term member of the House of Representatives, secured the backing during a consultation tour to APC stakeholders and executives in Agbarho, Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu.

The tour began from his hometown, Agbarho, in Ughelli North Local Government Area, where he formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency.

Addressing party executives and stakeholders during the visits, Ahwinahwi said the existing political rotation arrangement within the constituency favoured Ughelli North to produce the next representative.

He stated that his decision to return to the race was driven by his desire to continue serving the people through quality and inclusive representation.
