Arenyeka’s Emergence As Delta APC Chairman Historic, Strategic To Party’s 2027 Victory – Olorogun Nani

The Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun John Obukowho Nani, has described the emergence of Chief Solomon Arenyeka as the new State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State as historic and symbolic in the evolving political landscape of the state.

Chief Arenyeka was elected on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Cenotaph in Asaba, becoming the first Deltan to move from serving as State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to leading the APC in the state.

In a felicitation message personally signed by him, Nani said Arenyeka’s political journey reflects courage, conviction and belief in democratic participation.

 

“This is not just a victory for Chief Solomon Arenyeka; it is a defining moment that reflects courage, conviction, and an unwavering belief in democratic participation. His journey speaks to the power of experience and reinvention in politics,” Nani stated.

He noted that the new chairman possesses the capacity to unite diverse interests within the party and reposition it for greater growth.

“Chief Solomon Arenyeka’s ascendancy demonstrates resilience and a clear vision for inclusive party leadership. His ability to bridge divides and foster unity will undoubtedly strengthen the APC in Delta State,” he added.

The DESOPADEC boss further described Arenyeka as a grassroots-oriented leader with a listening ear and strong consensus-building skills.

 

“I have known Chief Arenyeka as a leader who listens carefully, builds consensus, and values grassroots engagement. These qualities are essential at this critical time in the party’s growth,” he said.

Calling for unity among stakeholders, Nani urged party faithful to rally round the new leadership to consolidate recent gains.

 

“Now is the time for consolidation, not division. I urge all stakeholders and party faithful to rally behind him so that this historic emergence can translate into tangible progress for both the party and the people of Delta State.”

He expressed confidence that under Arenyeka’s leadership, the APC would witness renewed strength, cohesion and expansion across the three senatorial districts of the state.
